Modern aircraft engines have an important role in the worldwide movement of people and goods. Aircraft are an integral part of our modern infrastructure and require highly efficient and powerful engines to operate profitably. In order to meet these requirements, a deep understanding of aerodynamics and thermodynamics in the various aircraft engines is required.

The lecture Luftfahrtantriebe II is based on the lecture Luftfahrtantriebe I. The basic findings from Luftfahrtantriebe I are applied to current engine concepts. The lecture concept is further oriented to the analytical character of Luftfahrtantriebe I. All interrelationships are analytically derived in a comprehensible way and important design and operating parameters are derived. Also the comparison of the taught calculation methods with common performance software is included. In addition to the overall system considerations, the individual components of the various engine concepts are also examined in detail within the scope of Luftfahrtantriebe II. The focus here is on the functional principles and most important operating parameters of the components.
